Dear friends!

In this update, we've continued moving in the direction set by several previous patches: improving user interfaces and the overall gameplay experience. One of the main focuses has been refining the third-person camera and crossbow shooting mechanics.

We've also prepared significant balance changes for you, but you'll see those in the second part of the patch, which we'll upload tomorrow. For now, let's move on to the changes.

Invisible Characters & Karma Loss

  • Killing an invisible character no longer reduces karma or applies the “Murderer” flag. Attacking a player in invisibility also does not apply the “Aggressor” flag.
  • Players who fell prey to this exploit were restored their karma.

Camera & Crosshair

  • Third-person crosshair is now identical to first-person crosshair and is located over the right shoulder;
  • The character model in third-person view has been shifted to the left (this does not affect combat system physics);
  • The first-person camera no longer changes height when equipping weapons and is no longer dependent on the character's height;
  • Reduced the influence of the “hip-fire” effect;
  • Doubled the number of physics calculations for projectile flight (both magical and bolts);

Crossbow

  • Fixed bugs where crossbow hit effects would not play, bolts would not display on the target, and bolts on the client could visually pass through the target even though a hit was registered;
  • Bolt drop (projectile trajectory arc) is now approximately one character height over 100 meters;
  • Added third-person aiming (zooming in as it was previously available in first-person);
  • Camera sway while walking with a crossbow is now set to 0;
  • Slightly increased the initial velocity of bolts;

UI | UX

  • Complete overhaul of the Quest Journal window:
    • Wider window;
    • Quest sorting by region and quest type;
    • Maximum number of active quests increased to 50;

Other

  • Added merchant and processor NPCs to the title room;
  • Powders in merchant inventories are now sorted according to their element;
  • Improved readability of map markers;
  • Special tools no longer stack;
  • Changed footstep sounds based on equipment weigh;
  • Localization fixes;
  • Experience quests now also count kills made by group members;
  • Removed the cooking and powder brewing stages from the island tutorial;

Balance

  • Medium crossbow stats have been increased: minimum damage +15%, maximum damage +30%;
  • A significant portion of the balance changes will be published in tomorrow's hotfix.

Best regards,
